UKM Vice-Chancellor’s Award 2022-2023 is an entirely paid scholarship for international students. The scholarship is offered to Ph.D. and master’s students. The scholarship will cover tuition waiver (every semester) and registration (one-time) as well as service and other activities (including the thesis, convocation) fees, and much more.

 

Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM) is delighted to announce that the UKM Vice-Chancellor Silver and Gold Scholarships are now available for applications. The scholarships are available to potential international and local students who intend to enroll as full-time Masters as well as Doctor of Philosophy (by research) students.

Achievement Evaluation of the Gold and Silver Vice-Chancellor’s performance will take place during the course of study (annually) and, if the recipient fails to meet the key performance Indicator (KPI) that is set, the scholarship could be canceled or other decision based on the findings of the Selection Committee.

Scholarship Coverage

UKM Vice-Chancellor Scholarships provide the following benefits to its recipients:

Gold Vice-Chancellor’s Award

  • Tuition waiver (every semester) and registration (one-time) services and other activities (including
    Convocation and thesis) costs.
  • The amount for living expenses of RM3200 each month for Ph.D. students. and 2200 for Masters.
  • The amount for the accommodation of RM300 monthly.
  • One round trip ticket (economy class) to Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA)
    from the home country and back returning to the home country via KLIA from the home country and KLIA for International, Sabahan and
    Sarawakian candidates.
  • Cost of visa during the postgraduate study (International Students only).

Silver Vice-Chancellor’s Award

  • Registration waived (one-time) along with fees for tuition (every semester) costs.
  • The living allowance is RM2000 monthly for PhD. and 1500 RM for master’s
    candidates.
  • The allowance for accommodation is RM300 each month.

Eligibility Criteria for UKM Vice-Chancellor Scholarship

To be eligible for UKM Vice-Chancellor’s Award, a candidate must meet the requirements listed as listed below:

  • Required Language: English
  • Countries Eligible: All world countries

Gold Vice-Chancellor’s Award

 

  • Applicant must be registered as a full-time postgraduate student through Research
  • To be eligible for MSc, applicants must have a Bachelor’s degree with
    Distinction CGPA at least of 3.67 or an undergraduate degree of First Class or equivalent
    from a respected university and must demonstrate academic credibility.
  • For Ph.D. applicants, they should have a Master’s Degree or equivalent
    from a respected institution; must have published a minimum of two (2) pieces in Q2
    journal, and above as the first student journal and above as the first student author.

Silver Vice-Chancellor’s Award

  • The applicant must be enrolled as a full-time postgraduate student in the Research mode or in Mixed Mode.
  • Candidates for MSc admission must hold an undergraduate degree with distinction CGPA that is at or below 3.67 or a First Class Bachelor’s Degree (or equivalent) from a respected university and must demonstrate academic credibility.
  • For Ph.D. applicants, applicants must hold an equivalent Master’s degree from a respected university; must have published at minimum two (2) papers in the Q3 journal or above as their first student author.
