- Scheigert Scholarships for People Who Wear Glasses
Three students with low eyesight will receive a $3,000 prize from the Fred Scheigert Scholarship Program. Committee members will conduct telephone interviews with finalists to determine who will get the award.
The three prize winners will be in attendance at the ACB National Convention in July. Expenses will be reimbursed according to the reimbursement policy of the CCLVI., which the Board has approved.

- Scholarships from the National Federation of the Blind (NFB).
Every school year, the NFB awards 30 scholarships to those who wear glasses to acknowledge the various accomplishments of blind students. To be considered for this award, you must be a U.S. or Puerto Rican citizen.

- Kenneth Jernigan Scholarships for People Who Wear Glasses or Are Blind
The American Action Fund for Blind Children and Adults is sponsoring these scholarships for students who use glasses. It is the largest blind scholarship in the United States.
The Kenneth Jernigan Scholarship is worth a total of $12,000.

- Scholarships from the Council of Citizens with Low Vision
Students with low vision who want to pursue higher education can apply for a new type of scholarship from this council.

- The Delta Gamma Foundation. Florence Memorial to Margaret Harvey
The grant is given to undergraduate or graduate students working in blind or visually impaired rehabilitation or education.

Application Instructions: You must complete an uncomplicated essay and obtain documentation of legal blindness from your doctor to apply for these awards for students with glasses. In the better eye, you must have a visual field of less than 20/200.

- The Rudolph Dillman Memorial Scholarship
Full-time students must apply for this grant for people who wear spectacles. Undergraduate and graduate students are eligible for the scholarship.

It’s not easy to find a scholarship for wearing glasses. But that doesn’t mean you can’t get one! If there is no scholarship dedicated specifically for people who wear glasses, it may be because they are still relatively new.
Wearing glasses has only been popular since the 1800s, and many eyeglasses companies didn’t exist before then. In addition, if someone wears prescription lenses, they will need an eye exam every year to renew their prescription, which means insurance coverage could be limited or nonexistent depending on where you live (check your local laws).
